Mundane Morning Memories
Sound art composed of old phone voice memos and mundane noises that have become a large part of my daily routine while in quarantine.
Blinds opening, snoring, running dishwasher, nervously rubbing hands, cracking knuckles, the cat eating, a train in Rome, seagulls in Wales...

Shedding
I often feel like I'm wearing many layers, especially when interacting with people I don't know. It takes some time, but the more I get to know someone, the more layers I seem to shed--until, finally, I am completely myself. With the people I love, I am free.
Before the performance I put on numerous layers of clothing. I began the performance by playing a song (specifically “Love Yourself” by Sufjan Stevens) off of my phone. As the song played, I took off my black shoes and started removing my clothing, one layer at a time. At first it was slow and slightly awkward. I tossed each item onto the ground/into the audience as I went. Removing the layers was easier and quicker as the performance went on. It was revealed that the layers of clothing had an ombre-esque effect and faded into different colors: gray/black/white--dark green--light green--teal--medium blue--dark blue--magenta--dark purple--lavender. Once in the final lavender layer, I put on lavender tennis shoes and walked out of the performance space. The song and performance ended.
